Double Glazing Essex
Double glazing is the term used to describe two panes of glass within a frame in place to reduce heat loss and to exclude external noise.
All homes lose heat via their external windows but by having energy efficient double glazing, you reduce this and help make your property warmer.
The space between the two panes of glass can be filled with a vacuum or a gas such as argon or krypton. Both of these methods can help increase the measure of thermal resistance, known in the industry as the "R-value".
You can have energy efficient double-glazed windows in a variety of frame materials such as traditional wood or uPVC. Of course different materials will have varying levels of energy efficiency, depending on how effective they are at preventing heat from escaping through the window, how much sunlight comes through the glass and how much air can leak in or out of the window surrounds.
A good way to choose a suitable window material is to research the manufacturers' window energy rating which will show just how energy efficient their products are.
Benefits of double glazing:
Reduced energy bills -savings of up to GBP135 a year by installing double glazing.
Environmentally friendly - reduced fuel consumption in your household.
Warmer home - no heat loss as much more insulation.
Quiet - External noises are kept out by the windows
Reduced condensation -energy efficient windows reduce condensation build-up.
Many different designs to choose from to match the style of your property.
When trying to work out the cost of double glazing, you need to think about how many windows there are on your property which you will be replacing, what type of frame you will want to use (wood or uPVC) and the corresponding frame sizes. uPVC is much more affordable when compared to wooden framed equivalents which can be substantially more expensive.
We guarantee that our installers and frames are fully compliant with building regulations and our installers are Certass registered (another scheme which registers and approves installers).
