About us
We have helped generations of families through very difficult times by understanding and fulfilling their wishes in an individual way. We realise that this is something very personal to you and accommodate your instructions with the upmost respect, sensitivity and professionalism.
This is what makes Bennetts one of the most highly recommended Funeral Directors in the county of Essex.
Who we are Traditionally people are very reluctant to think about their own funeral. This is understandable as none of us like to consider our own mortality. However, the result of this is that when the inevitable does happen, family and friends are often left guessing and not sure what to do. At a time when they may be dealing with grief as well as the legal issues surrounding the bereavement, relatives are also trying to devise funeral arrangements which they hope are what you would have wanted, decisions can be made in a rush and sometimes regretted later. Funeral wishes, whether in a Will or as described below, are not legally binding after death. It is therefore sensible to identify who will give instructions for your funeral, so you feel confident that your wishes will be followed. It is helpful for your partner, family and friends to follow your wishes after death, it is part of the grieving process for them. There is no right or wrong way to hold a funeral, what is important is that those concerned leave feeling that they have said their farewells and given thanks in a way that was meaningful to you.
What we do
Mixing a combination of traditional mason's skills with modern technology, we endeavour to provide memorials of the highest quality and durability.
All shapes, designs and colours found within the memorials range, can be manufactured in various materials. Differing ornaments, frames and vases may also be added or replaced.
When choosing a memorial you should also take into consideration the durability of the stone. Granite is a far more durable stone than marble and is ideally suited to the etching and sandblasting of detailed designs. The memorials may be further personalised with badges, mementos or favourite scenes. Colour can be added to further highlight most designs. If you do not find exactly what you have in mind within our range, please visit our showroom - we have a large selection of memorials in stock, a further selection of brochures with differing designs and many year's experience in assisting personal and unique memorial designs.
